Dedicated to those who want more out of life and don't have it.
I watched this show today on Oprah, and was in shock and in tears.
The poor are not just in New Orleans they are all over the USA..
Homeless, living in cars. living under over passes on the highways.. not just one person but
families,, parents with children, husband and wives. People living without running water or electric.. in the land of the free and home of the brave.. in 2006 !!!
Is America becoming the new 3 world?
I know there are these situations all over the world but to see it in America and with all the money that got donated to N.O. victims and yet where is that money now.
I was talking to my youngest son who is 24 he said he wanted to go to Florida and work with rebuilding the homes of the hurricane victims and I said why don't you go to N.O, and do this .. his reply was… " they dont pay the payroll" he has a friend whom worked in N.O. for a while and the state owe him thousands of dollar in salary and he has yet to receieve it so my son won't go there.
So many people in other countries are dying to come to USA and meanwhile there are Americans DYING living here. I don't get it .. I really don't ..

It is a travesty that so many people can be living in poverty in the modern world and there is no good reason for it. I was reading on bcdc’s blog that the U.S. are spending $6bn a month just to maintain a military presence in Iraq. $6,000,000,000! Politics and hardheadedness is killing people! They say knowledge is power, but it can also be a source of pain and frustration. Be good as you always are. Q.
I watched this………I agree, there are too many poor living in america, as well as all over the world. I don’t know what to say, I am speechless about this issue. Sometimes, I feel sorry for myself, and think that I don’t have everything that I want. Then I see this type of amazing program on TV. BIG BIG props to OPRAH for showing this and putting it in the faces of so many. She also built houses for the Katrina Victims, the street is called “Angel Lane”She is a really great woman. Thanks for this post Eve! always, sarah
HI Q,This is the point.. Washington has spent more money on the war in Iraq and this money would have done more good right here in USA and less young men and women would be killed.I remember the 60s when people would stand up for their beliefs now they just let someone else do it . no protests no outspoken people just accepting what comes their way. Thanks for reading and caring Q Eve
HI Sarah,I am happy you did see this program. I was speechless too.. I know there are poor in USA however it’s still hard to see it and to know all that money that was donated to N. O. isn’t anywhere to be found NOW. Oprah is a great lady and I know she would be voted in for president if she would run :)I hope you are ok since I see on the news the bad weather out there in Texas LoveEve
HI D,NO FREEBIEs but come on all the money going over seas can be used well here and to build our country back up.You are welcome and thank you for readingEve
Simple ideas could solve problems like this within the U. S.We should pull in all of our efforts, ($), around the world, spend those dollars on changing life for Americans. Also, strenghten our borders for protection. Leave other countries alone. No freebees, create programs so that our citizens can help themselves.Re-build the country FDR style. Thanks Eve, for making us aware.
