Here in the USA the begining of each month is a new month for the POLICE to start writing tickets. They have quotas each month to meet and they really become agressive in the begining of each month and also at the end of that month.
I was driving through this town in New York State where I have some stores however, this day June 1st I was just driving thru this town to get to the bridge that goes across the river to another area where I was working on this day.
The speed limit was 55, thn it turned into 40 then down to 30 since it was inside the small town and I know these limits since I have been driving around these towns for more than 30 years.
A car passed me with this young girl in it and she was flying by me and going down the hill and I was behind her observsing the 30 limit and also seeing the police sitting in a parking lot at the bottom of the hill, A known place for this behavior.
She flew past him and as I came down the hill I expected him to go after her however, he did not move ,
I continued to drive ahead .
After a minute I see him coming out of this area not fast or with lights on but I knew he was thinking since I am from Connecticut I am an easy mark for a ticket thinking I don't know the limits and an easy ticket will be handed to me. WRONG!
He must have run my plate number and when he got back my information and seen my Arabic name he thought maybe he found something more than a person speeding.
He put the lights on and I pulled over. he comes to the car and asked for my licence and registrastion , Then he said, "Do you know nwy I stopped you? " I said, " NO I don't" He said, " you were doing 44 in a 30 " I said , "NO I was not I know the limit here I drive thru here for years I am a sales rep and I thought you would have pulled over the white car in front of me since she passed me speeding " then I even told him the limits of the areas behind me and in front of me and at this point he changed his story to … " YOU did not have on your seat belt" I said , " YES I DID and DO NOW !!!" I told him I have 5 chilren and 4 grand kids whom I love dearly and wouldn't not want them to lose me.
He took my information back to his car where he kept me sitting in my car for 20 minutes being humiliated and upset for being pulled over wrongly. I then noticed he called for another police car to assist him now I was really UPSET .. why 2 cars and 2 policemen? Even murderers don't have this treatment.
Finally, after the 20minutes the 2 policeman comes to my window with a ticket for NO SEAT BELT.. I explained to him I had my seatbelt on then and NOW and I was adjusting it since it bothers me next to my neck. He then explained to me, I could have given me a speeding ticket which would go on my licence and make my insurance higher but they gave me a break for NO SEAT BELT,OK?" I said, "I GUESS SO" then he says to me" WHAT DID YOU SAY?????? " I said, " I am not happy about getting any ticket since I did not do either of what you said I did" I then took the ticket .
I Know this is all due to being from another state and having an Arabic name, then once he found out I knew what I was talking aobut and knowing I was not going to close my mouth to him or the other one, I guess they did not want any more trouble.
Just another case of descrimation which was the reason I posted that link to the Video so you all can see how much descrimation there is against Muslims and people from other countries however,
I AM AN AMERICAN BORN AND RASIED HERE !
As long as people keep their minds and hearts closed there will always be descrimation, I am so use to it since a child having best friends that were BLACK OR SPANISH.. I too was called bad names..
I was hoping all my life to break the chain of hatred however, it will be around long after I am not breathing.
Always walking in the LIGHT,
my journey continues

Hi Fatimah,I can relate to this……….. here we call it, DWB or driving while black, or in my case, driving while with someone black in your car, lol. There was a huge debate here in town about the percentage of African American and Hispanic American people that the cops were pulling over compared to white. After the debate and change of chief of police, things got a little better. But things are still not good. For some odd reason, they put a police station ON the black side of town…(well the most populated of black) anyway, they old white city leaders here in town thought that would ease the crime level on the ‘east side’. I don’t know, I am not sure it will ever change until the old attitude of color being bad…or culture being bad wears off in the US. Who knows when this will happen. :confused:Thanks for bringing this topic up, I really wish that I could talk more about it. I could go on for days at all the ways we have been screwed by the police as well. Makes me sick. Thanks again,:heart:Sarah
Hi Fatimah,Sorry to hear about that incident you had with that stupid cop. I don’t blame you for being mad. I would too. I have been getting FWDWB (Followed While Driving While Black) by cops here too. They see a black guy in a car (that’s not beat up looking), and automatically think that the car is stolen or something like that, I imagine. The last time it happened was some months ago. I wasn’t speeding or anything, but the cop latched on to me, eventhough others had been speeding in front of me. Everytime I changed lanes, so did he. He followed me until he turned into the courthouse parking lot for the cops. Guess he figured I must have been up to something, huh? Thanks for talking about your experience in this post.Sincerely,Marcus
Hi FatimahI am not sure if you can dispute traffic fines through a court system or not. Here we can dispute it in a Magisterial court and it doesn’t cost anything – it’s your right to dispute the fine, and at the very least the fine is normally reduced. So maybe you should think about doing that – especially if you didn’t do anything wrong.I am not certain how much discrimination takes place in South Africa. The majority of the population is African – so discrimination in that regard probably doesn’t happen. We also don’t suffer from the anti-Islamic sentiment which is prevalent in the States at the moment. So that’s not really a factor either. In fact, the only form of discrimination I might see is against BMW drivers (they are the worst in the world and probably have the highest amount in unpaid fines). If a car is pulled over it is most probably a BMW. Thankfully, I don’t drive one of those :)I hope your weekend is better š Don’t let some @sshole cop spoil it for you.Love, JCL.
HHmm…you know, Fatimah, policemen are just a … >:) ! I just feel like spitting on their face… >:) But I won’t do this, becuase I don’t want to make my spittle dirty =)) =)) =)) =)) Well, one night when I was travelling from New Delhi to Assam by train and I was alone. Some two dogs (do I need to explain who were the dogs? =))) entrained the couch that I was sitting in among the congested passangers. The dogs were hungry and were beggin for BONES… well they were barking at the passangers for MONEY so that they could purchase some BONES and biting those who had nothing to throw before them! =))I was thinking and thinking as I was travelling alone and my head was hanging down again and again as I needed sleep and as I remember I had already been travelling for 2 days and it was the seocnd night and I had not had any sleep! I-)I-)I-)I realized that it’d be better that I show my MERCY on those hungry beasts so I took a coin of 5 Rs. out of my pocket and when one of them was LICKING at my feet I gave it to him with THANKS… but he indicated me to give more… but I was also not so weak and seeng that all the masculine were being hermathrodite I had to give that coin. There were Muslims also in the couch and a muslim brother was sitting near me. I said to him, “Why didn’t they trouble you?” He said, “They don’t dare to come near us. Why did you give him your coin? You must have said that you were with us.” Some passanger said to me, “It’s UP! (Uttar Pradesh – a state of India)”Well, that Muslim man was a good one becuase he was the only person with whom I talked for a while and he liked me much for my Urdu lines what they call “Shayari.” But I am no Shayar! Just sometimes…”O you who dwell in the lines of my palms…How the world will take you away from me?The beats of your heart will run more fastYou the one who hold my picture at your chest.” :x—“How strange is the cottage of heart! That it longs for getting robbed!” ;)—“She has got a heart and so have IMine was made of glass so got broken… =((While hers was made of stone so remaind whole.” :-
HI Sarah and Marcus,Thank you for sharing your stories I know from past experience how descrimations are dealt with and this was my fear about being bothered by the police and being alone.I am so happy I kept my mouth shut. Being Irish I tend to be firm in my beliefs and when I am right all hell will break lose to prove it.Thank you for your commentsLoveFatimah
HI Gopal, thank you for a great story I really enjoyed it so much.Your poem is also very nice thank you for your comment and your caringHugs,Fatimah
HI JCL,Nice to see you again š I can dispute this ticket however, it’s his word against mine and then with the 2 cop showing and he will back up the other guy so it’s a dead end .I will pay the fine and write a letter of dispute with payment.. just to set the record straight. God will handle these kinds of cops. I see it here in Connecticut too on the weekends the cops wait for the New York people to come up and give them tickets since they are weekenders and with money and the cops need to fill their quotas. Thanks for commenting I miss seeing your words here.LoveFatimah
Well, thanks a lot. Bbut one thing I wanted to tell you that the smiling smileys that you see in the first line š Actually, I was trying make a DEVIL smiley instead but I don’t know why it didn’t work. And the same thing happned again and again that only signs are being displayed and not the smileys I expected. Can you or anybody tell me how to add different types of smileys to a blog (such as laughing, devil, sleepy, wink etc.)…?Hhmm…o thanks..Fatimah! You enjoyed reading my story which I can never forget. It was a very long journey by train I had ever had. Thanks again! :)Gopal.
cops have one more brain cell than a horse, why? so they dont shit in the street during the parade.rgdsSteven
Gopal, the smilies are on the botton near the sumit button you can make all differnt kinds just click on the smilies I know your train ride was a long one I have seen those trains in documentaries, unbearable.HugsFatimah
HI Steven,That is so funny I never heard of that one before :)thanks for your kind feelings and great words .sleep well my friend,Fatimah
Any discrimination is unacceptable and we live in world where we can witness it in too many situations. Fortunately, there is some place like here on Opera where we almost never witness it (from what I saw). Iām sorry that you have to live this frustrating incident:worried: Take careLouis
HI Louis,Yes we do live in a whole where it has become smaller and more accesible for people to learn more about differnt cultures and religions. Here in USA we are a melting pot of nations and this is what this country was built on and this is what this country will fall down from . Over 400 years and the Black people here are just starting to see some freedom.. I have always aligned myself with the under dog in any reason and now I am the under dog however, no one aligned with me I stand alone :(Thank you Louis and you are so right, here in Opera Land we are all on the same level not one better than the other or one country better than the other, this is why I love Opera and the poeple here so very much.thank you for always caringFatimah
O thank you so much, Fatimah! :sing:Well, my journey was a long one… very long! It was very excting and adventurous one! I started from my city which is in the state/province Rajasthan to New Delhi and from there to Assam – a very beautiful place! It was afternoon when I began my journey from Rajasthan and I was in New Delhi by the next morning. So tired! Well, my train arrived at the Old Delhi station hhmm the Shersarai station from there I went to the New Delhi railway station by bus. And there… I met a Ticket-checker… who was a :pirate: !!! He gave me the ticket but took extra money from me and I didn’t know it. He said, “Go fast… the train is about to start…” Rrrruuunningggggggg…. O Train please take me in…! I am also coming…plzzzzzz…! Oeyyy stop now…!No inch to stand…! I was hanging out at the door… somehow holding tight the door. Oooppsss… so tired! Then the day went and so did the night and again next day and next night and then finally on the fourth day early in the morning…I was in Assam! Thank God! I remember that I could not sleep at all but the last night a man was travelling in the next couch and he asked me to sleep in his berth which was reserved for him. I thanked him and slept there for some hours…! It was some relief! God bless him! It was a very pleasant journey also. I had some “mysterious” reasons behind this so long journey. Well, I am thinking of writing on it…later on!Have a nice day!Gopal.
O thanks a lot Fatimah! When I thought of going back, I had the fear of the long journey again…:) Well I had decided that if I would have to travel by train for so many hours or days and nights, I would never do it again in my life!Yes, it’s true that here I have found some gems and for that I sincerely thank Opera and you all! Thank you so much for all your support! Wish you all the best!Gopal.
HI Gopal,I know how hard the journeys in India are I have seen them on Global Tekker š I would rather stay home š Happy you made it to where you were going thank you for sharing your story with me and write more in your blog about things like this you will be surprised how many people will read it.Happy you are in Opera tooFatimah
Hi Fatimah.Your story is exactly about our russian cops) Don’t worry that’s the life. May be we’ll figure out how to make it better.Actially, our cops are much softer with women. That’s a kind of discrimination if you like)More impressive you tell about islam. Antony Surogsky told ones that your hardly get any progress in religion sense if you don’t meet a man with God’s gleam in his eyes. Probably you’ve met one. Best wishes.Olaf.
Hello Olaf,I know this cop things are world wide,. IN Egypt they extort people for money since they make very little money for pay so they feel they should be paid on the side by the motorist they will give tickets to or not.here in USA if you offer money to a cop they call it a Bribe and then they can arrest you. I know the truth about this day and I am sure God will handle these cops they acused me wrongly . Thank you for your kind words about my posts which speak about Islam.. I am proud to be Muslim and I feel like a differnt person because I have been CHOSEN to be MUSLIM and I have seen God inside a few eyes and in my dreams as well.as a Christian I felt and seen nothing, my life changed the day I became Muslim and not all good as you have seen in the ticket post.. I am discrimated against the minute people hear my name even though I am blonde hair and green eyes . all this goes away with my Arabic name Fatimah Abdullah :)Their loss not mine Thank you for reading and commenting Fatimah
Hi Fatimah.Very good that you have found your way. And not in shopping, eating (like I do sometimes:), TV and other bad things not to be mentioned. I’m really sorry that your native Protestantism couldn’t fulfill your spiritual demands. We here in Russia try to live more spiritually but it’s a hard work you know. So TV-beer culture wins our souls every day.I must say I was impressed by your style of making blog: such a complex way of “transporting” thoughts and feelings. Very nice indeed. But a question had raised. Especially after reading the article “Why Islam?”.I mean using a lot of nudity in pictures. From one side it corresponds to a common line of talking. But Islam … you understand. I’m not against pictures of pretty bodies on proper places. But sometimes it bothers a lot. Flesh images could spoil and ruin a lot in our internal world. How do you combine it?May be it’s not a problem at all. Men are more affective by images, women by words:)Thank you for your work here and honesty.Olaf.
HI Olaf,I use to drink to much do drugs and shop to much too and then I replaced my dependancy in these areas for a spiritual path. The path I was on was paved to hell.. I almost killed myself from drinking to much until I said ENOUGH GOD PLEASE I DON’t want to die.. and not one minute after that asking I felt the warmth rush go thru my body and from that moment on I never needed to have a drink of beer or any other mind altering drink or drug.. I have been chosen to experience so many horrors and to see the other side of them which is the good side even in being abused and sexually violated. I thank God for all these bad times they make me see and taste the good times even more so. I understand what you are saying about my nudity in photos .. I am Muslim however I am not living in the Muslim way.. I am American firstly and Muslim is my religion not my life. I am spiritual not religious. If I was I would not be on the net or talking to men other than a husband which I don’t have any longer. I do keep myself pure but I would do this any way even if not being a Muslim I love myself to much to just lay with anyone who does not deserve a woman such as myself. Nudity is the most perfect form of art.. there is nothing wrong in a nude body of any type… Nudity also is self expression of being FREE in spirit and also to express openness. I am not using nude photos for the sexual part but for the part of expressing the music in a differnt way to make you think and feel and see things in differnt views not in a view of yes and man and woman bla bla .. no I am saying look beyond, go deeper, feel more and get intouch with your soul. I am Muslim however, I am very sensual and open and not even a religion will ever take my freedom of expression from me .. this is a part of my creation, a gift given to me from God and I will not abuse it but I will USE it. I hope you are not offended by my posts or anyone offended . like I tell people whom don’t like certain tv shows.. if you don’t like it… change the channel . Thank you for asking and expressing your feelings to me I enjoy any great mind and open heart, and I am willing to talk about my postings if needed.Fatimah
