Missing You

This is about a feeling I had when I lived in New York City.

City life has it's memories and I created many living there and loving there.
How much I loved and miss the "CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS"

The building with 9th Ave on it was like the building I lived in on 9th Ave.
I also lived on 8th Ave which looks like the other photo looking up at it.

MISSING
YOU

I step off the train

I'm walkin' down your street again
And past your door
But you don't live there anymore

It's years since you've been there
And now you've disappeared somewhere
Like outer space
You've found some better place

And I miss you
(Like the deserts miss the rain)

And I miss you
Oh
(Like the deserts miss the rain)

Could you be dead?
You always were two steps ahead
Of every one

We'd walk behind while you would run

I look up at your house
And I can almost hear you shout, down to me
Where I always used to be

And I miss you
(Like the deserts miss the rain)

And I miss you
(Like the deserts miss the rain)

Back on the train
I ask why did I come again

Can I confess
I've been hangin' 'round your old address?
And the years have proved
To offer nothin' since you moved

You're long gone
But I can't move on

And I miss you
Oh-oh (Like the deserts miss the rain)

And I miss you, yeah
(Like the deserts miss the rain) And I miss you

I step off the train
I'm walkin' down your street again
Past your door

I guess you don't live there anymore
It's years since you've been there

And now you've disappeared somewhere
Like outer space
You've found some better place

And I miss you
(Like the deserts miss the rain)
And I miss you, yeah
(Like the deserts miss the rain)
And I miss you, and I miss you

(Like the deserts miss the rain)
And I miss you, yeah
(Like the deserts miss the rain)
Deserts miss the rain
(Like the deserts miss the rain) Like the deserts miss the rain
(Like the deserts miss the rain)

Enjoy with Love,
then ….. EVE

  6. A wonderful post my dear, as usual. However, being born and raised in the wide open spaces of the West, I find it hard to understand how people can live and breath in NYC. I have visited larger cities from time to time and enjoy them for their history and such but find myself feeling suffocated after a short time. I also have a hard time with dirty old things, buildings, streets and rusting bridges etc.Reminds me of a line from Eddy Izzard, (the Executive Transvestite), where he said, “Yes, I from Europe, where the history comes from.” Unlike the U.S., especially the West, when a building reaches the prime age of 50 years or so, we tear them down and build a new one.Sounds like a personal problem, I know. Sorry for the ramble.Warm regards and again, nice post.:DPoE

  7. HI Dave,I understand your point since I live in the country part of Connecticut and I hate it really .. Being single there is no life up here no place to go to socialize so I stay home alone. with my pc and my online friends πŸ™ In Cairo there are always places to go and people to see as in NYC too .. the larger citys have so much to offer single people not to mention CULTURE .. I can’t tell you how many times I have gone to museums and art galleries and events here in Ct NOTHING I have to drive over 1 hr to have any kind of life of Culture and then alone? NO way.In NYC I can walk on the street and make a friend right off here I walk and get stared at like a freak >… NO CAR? everyone drives here no one walks :((I like both but if I had my choice… NYC here I come :)HugsFatimah
