I was very tired last night so I couldn't make a new post and I had this from my scout.
I thought it would help me out today 🙂
I enjoy good jokes and this one is not to funny since it's true 🙁
Enjoy it with me ..
Dear IRS,
Enclosed is my 2006 tax return showing that I owe $3,407.00 in
taxes.
Please note the attached article from USA Today, wherein you
will see the Pentagon is paying $171.50 for hammers and NASA has paid
$600.00 for a toilet seat.
I am enclosing four toilet seats (value $2400) and six hammers
(value $1029), bringing my total remitted to $3429.00.
Please apply the overpayment of $22.00 to the "Presidential
Election Fund," as noted on my return.
You can do this inexpensively by sending them one 1.5" Phillips
Head screw (article from USA Today detailing how HUD pays $22.00 each
for 1.5" Phillips Head Screws is enclosed for your convenience.)
It has been a pleasure to pay my tax bill this year, and I look
forward to paying it again next year.
Sincerely,
A Satisfied Taxpayer

COMMENTS:
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago and our nation was
the most prosperous in the world, had absolutely no national debt, had
the largest middle class in the world and Mom stayed home to raise the
kids.
What the hell happened ?
Fatimah
This is true about the cost of items the govenment has purchased it not a joke 🙁 our tax money is being misused each day and this in turn makes us having to work harder to earn more 🙁 Fatimah
MOMToo a lot of things and in Viet Nam too My parents have to work harder to earn enough and so I am my parents only work on farm and this work is so hardwoking and they can not do anything elseSometimes I am very tired and I …Best things will come to us I hope soYour sonDiem
🙁 This is depressing when it is all listed out like that. Just to go see my mother in law in OKC cost us almost $10.00 in toll fees, PLUS the outrageous cost of gas! Raising prices and higher taxes, what is next???I think there is no going back. We have to PAY to STAY (or we can all get together and buy and island maybe and make our own rules.) That would be great to me. :love:Sarahwondering the same thing, what the hell happened.
Eeek!!!My taxes are due on Friday and I haven’t even started. This is the beginning of an application for an extension! :DIt’s amazing that a government can find so much to tax – and South African tax rates are much higher than that of America. In fact, about one third of my income goes towards tax and that doesn’t even include the indirect taxes on fuel and products you buy at stores! It is depressing. There are so many things I could be doing with that money! Maybe I should send in a few toilet seats rather?!?! ;)Love, JCL.
Well, if it weren’t for taxes, where would we put Houston, Dallas and Fort Worth?”Lee_in_FL”
Hey devans…Don’t forget…Our taxes are used to pay the United States Marines as well! :D”Lee_in_FL”
Taxes?I died 37 years ago and haven’t paid the basic ones since.:DDon’t turn me in.:D
Lee,I was just kid’din, I pay in the 40%+ range.:D
Hi all,You guys are so funny 😀 thanks for the haha after a long day of hard rain and fears of tornados 🙁 I think no matter what country we all around the world pay high taxes and for what? I hit a pot hole on a highway and it almost ruined my front tire 🙁 where’s the road crew? watching one man in a hole digging LOL,.I do housekeeping off the books it’s the only way to get some relief in taxes.I would like to know who watches the government spending they watch us but who watches them? one day we will all say ” I’ve had enough !”thank you all for your comments and reading Love to allFatimah
Hi!What a horror!? how are you live with this?
HI AndreuIts not just in USA it’s like this in some way in most countries I feel :(The world has gone to crap 🙁 The powerful are the rulers we are just the do-ers 🙁
I’m all 4 blanket taxation.:D
me too as long as its’a light blanket 😀
It would be.If everyone……everyone!, paid a flat10% of their income to taxes, we could pay down the national debt in a decade and then start lowering the 10%.
I agree I was paying over 17percent and didn;t even make 100,000 a year 🙁 what’s wrong with that picture ?
it would :(but my 17 percent was after deductions for business and it was on amounts of 20 K lessthats sick to pay that much on 20k
Try 45%, that’ll make you cry.:D
F.I probably miss spoke.55% is what I take home from gross.I invest in insurance, 401K’s etc.but about 30% is taxes of some sort.Whine, Whine, Whine………..:D
lol Whine, Whine, Whine
Hello Eve,yes, you are right: this is a problem of all nations…but our presidents and politicians all have a nice life (see the “Texas-boy” and our “Angie” these days in Germany 😆 )What can we do? We should build a club: ATC (Anti-Taxes-Club)
HI Elke,Yes you are so right .. they live in luxury for free as we have to strugglejust to make it thru the days.In Egypt the president has many palaces while children have no shoes.. 🙁 thank you for commenting and sign me in this club too 🙂 :love:Fatimah
