Going Green 101

Calmwinds

Today Oprah had a great show on about what
we all can do to help the planet become greener.

Small things not HUGE changes.

Changing light bulbs to the energy saving
can save a large amount on your electric bill.
I did all mine when I moved to my new apartment.

Not using plastic or paper bags at the grocery store.
I have bought the cloth bags which most grocery stores
sell for under $2.00 and you also get .02 cents off your
total bill in most stores.

Cutting down the use of napkins can save thousands of trees.
Not buying bottled water will save water and power.
Buy a bottle you can fill and reuse some have filters
inside the bottles as seen on Oprah show.

For more information please go to www.oprah.com
you can see the video and find links to many sites
for more information.

I feel we all can do small things such as I stated here
to have HUGE savings in our wallets and on our Mother Earth.

American Forests
The average person is responsible for emitting 94 pounds of carbon dioxide every day. It takes four trees, which act as natural air filters, to offset the carbon dioxide each person generates in a month. For each dollar donated, American Forests plants a tree. For more information and to plant trees, visit www.americanforests.org.

  1. Thank you Fati, for your continuos concern about Mother Earth. Your repeatedwarnings about what we are doing to her reach more and more people, I hope. The people of my country, allas, are not so much concerned about that. We just start recycling process. I myself always carry my own bag to the store and use energy saving elctro bulbs. Love, Ramute.

  2. I take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks for your social interest in spreading your message of ECO-FRIENDLY awareness among the humanity. May I take this as a New Year 2008 Message from you? May God Bless you. My warm regards,

  3. Hi Ramute,Thank you for your kind words towards my efforts to bring a level of awareness to anyonewho reads my blog.I found in my own way of living that it’s the lack of knowing how to do certain things or what kind of impact just a napkin can have on the destruction of trees. Imagine .. toothpicks? :yikes:I really feel the schools should start teaching these kinds of awareness in 2 gradeand to extend the education into the homes of the same children as the child willbring home information to the family and also sharing in the work of recycling.I am glad to know that you too my friend are a part of our greener world.with love,Fati
