MY Balcony

I couldn't sleep last night so I went onto my balcony and over looked my view.

At night it's very magical and quiet and full of peace and lights. In the day time it's very different.

I can see far off in the distance, the Cairo International airport. I see planes that are flying in and some departing.

I think each time when I see one land, the first time I arrived here and how excited I was to have flown for the very first time.

I remember the excitement of meeting people I knew for a long time however, never really meeting them in person. I was PUMPED .

I am happy and blessed to have had these feelings and experiences.

NOw you too can see the view from my balcony however, it's in the day time and it looks totally differnt at night.

ENJOY ……….Eve

  1. HI Dan, welcome back 🙂
I was wondering where you were, and it has been a while since I heard from you.
Thank you for the kind words and reading my rants haha, I try to show my heart as I have said before and even in sadness or joy my words are reflecting my heart.
At night the whole view is totally differnt, you don’t see the sands you see in the distant the green lights from the airport and all the lights from differnt buildings far off.
I would take a photo of it and I have however, it didn’t come out well, total darkness even with a flash.

Looking forward to reading your posts as well

    Eve

  2. The scene outside your window is breathtaking and so alien to the scene outside my window.

    Thank you for sharing!

  3. This base is the home for around 10 street dogs. I watch them and enjoy seeing the family structure they have grown.
It’s amazing how all these dogs unrelated can live in peace and harmony and yet………Human relations can’t.
There seems to be a pecking order I feel this is why. In family if there isn’t any pecking order then no respect is valid.

There are 2 army men who live on this base I guess for their shift. I see them walk the fence line to make sure it’s up and to insure no one is ” HOMESTEADING”

In Cairo, they hire people to live in empty sites to ensure no theft of property. WE have deeds here they have land watchers.

    That’s it from the desert.

  4. HI KAY,
It’s the Saraha since all of Cairo is built on it.
It’s also an army base and there are bunkers in there too is you look closly you can see the doors under the mounds of sand.

yes this is what I see each time I hang laundry on the lines that are in the pic too.

If the E gov knew I had this on the net I am sure the next thing would be banging on my door 🙁 SHHHH OK? 🙂

It sure is Alien almost like being on MARS .

    Thanks for looking

  5. Hi Eve.
Sorry for being a little absend lately. Too much of working for me now…
Anyways, it’s always very nice and “refreshing” to see real pictures taken by opera journal writers.
Specially, when the picture shows a tiny part of an experienced life.
While looking at your picture I caught myself trying to imagine what thoughts you have while looking at the same sight at night.
It’s good to feel this way. And it is a proof that even in this kind of world we’re living in, we still can create bonds that connect us emotionally.
Personally I’m involved with every post you write, ’cause most of the times I can put myself in your shoes and remember experiences I had while living away from my country.
Keep on writing ’cause I’ll keep on reading,
    DAN
