The Count Down begins :)

Hello again still from Cairo.

I am starting my count down… 7 more days from today.

Yes ! I am getting nervous, each time I fly I wonder what stress the airport will place on me, will I get a seat next to another FAT WOMAN??? KIDSSSSSS 🙁 etc.

One trip back to USA I was seated in the middle section which contained 4 seats, and this lady with 2 children had 3 and I had one.

It was my first trip to and from and I drove myself to the JFK airport and I had to drive myself back to Connecticut so I really needed to get some sleep on the 10 hr flight.

It seemed as each time I closed my eyes this woman kid would kick me and wake me up. Finally I asked her to please move him and allow me to sleep, all she kept saying was SORRY but didn't more the little ………. 🙁

The last time I sat next to this huge woman who took up 1.5 seats and never flew before and spoke no English.

I had to remove her shoes and place the slippers on her feet since she couldn't bend down, I felt so bad for her and I spoke to her in the little Arabic I knew and it sorta made her feel calmer and also taking her hand offered her some assurance as well.

The only bad thing with her was me walking every half hour as to not get clots as I was told this is good for long distance flying and thank G I ride horses so I and straddle large women LOL.

I had to get passed her as I would mounting a horse, it worked and she felt bad she couldn't get up however, I told her no no no it's ok good exercise for me 🙂

This is what plays in my mind now, whom will I sit next to.

Flying here in Dec. I had 3 seats as I always take a window seat and the other 2 were empty so I laid down thru the trip and watched movies that way also.

My sister just told me she saw on the news someone < Egyptian woman> gave birth on the flight to USA from Cairo. Egypt Airline the one I fly can you imagine 🙂 Glad it wasn;t my flight LOL

Just an update of whats playing in Eves mind these days 🙂

Thanks for reading.

Eve

  1. I hope your count down is going better than mine 🙂 I am sick again 🙁 I don’t understand why I am sick most of the time. WEll lets hope the US treats me better 🙂

  2. HI JCL,

Thank you for the well wishes and you being a traveler understand me as well as Dan does. Thank G the plane is a Boeing 707, they are like the caddy of airplanes.

I would be fearful flying like you did with bad weather, this is why I booked my flight for May 1st. Also I am sure by the time I get back to Connecticut the flowers and trees will be blooming and my eyes will feast upon the greenery that I miss so much.

Nice to see you back too 🙂

  3. Hi Eve

I just recently came back from a trip to the coast http://my.opera.com/JCL_75/journal/2 and it was one of the worst flights I have been on. We just happened to fly through some really stormy weather, and the storm also dumped hail [ice] on the runway so we had to circle for a while until the ice was cleared. I was pretty glad to get back home 🙂 I like going places, it’s just that I hate travelling whether it be by plane or by car.

I hope your flight back to the States goes by quickly and that you don’t get saddled next to any large women 🙂

    Regards,
    JCL.

  4. Ha!
    Funny post Eve.
I really hope your flight back is gonna be very calm and relaxing for you (yeah, I know, flights are never relaxing…).
Anyways, I wish you all the luck in the world when you have somebody sitting next to you. 😉
Please, keep on writing from the States.
    Have a safe trip,
    Dan

  5. While taxiing at London’s Gatwick Airport, the crew of a US Air flight departing for Ft. Lauderdale made a wrong turn and came nose to nose with a United 727.

An irate female ground controller lashed out at the US Air crew, screaming: “US Air 2771, where the hell are you going?! I told you to turn right onto Charlie taxiway! You turned right on Delta! Stop right there. I know it’s difficult for you to tell the difference between C and D, but get it right!”

Continuing her rage to the embarrassed crew, she was now shouting hysterically: “God! Now you’ve screwed everything up! It’ll take forever to sort this out! You stay right there and don’t move till I tell you to! You can expect progressive taxi instructions in about half an hour and I want you to go exactly where I tell you, when I tell you, and how I tell you! You got that, US Air 2771?”

“Yes, ma’am,” the humbled crew responded. Naturally, the ground control communications frequency fell terribly silent after the verbal bashing of US Air 2771. Nobody wanted to chance engaging the irate ground controller in her current state of mind.

Tension in every cockpit out around Gatwick was definitely running high. Just then an unknown pilot broke the silence and keyed his microphone, asking: “Wasn’t I married to you once?”

    😉
