Is the grass greener ?

HI again,

I was walking home from work < as usual> the other day and I always have my ear buds in listening to ATB or some other up beat group when this motor cyclist slowly drove next to me.

I try not to look at people however, I noticed his man from my side vision, it was Obvious this man needed some directions or to ask me a question.

He asked me if I knew the way to the lake, I forgot there are a few lakes in my area and I guided him to the one across the street from where I am living.

This man in his 60s on a cool motorcycle and from New York State asked, " Do you live in this area? " I replied, " yes I do." He then replied, " You are very lucky."

I have lived in New York State for most of my life and I never thought of people living in Connecticut LUCKY!

New York State has many wonderful and more beautiful locations than Connecticut.. Just alone the mountains, Catskills and Adirondacks are breath taking.

The same happens when I tell people I live part time in Egypt they think I am soooooooooooooooooo lucky. Why ?

I would be lucky if I could; live in my own country and not have to live outside my own country thats LUCKY 🙂

It's nice to romanticize about far away places, oh the good ole days haha.. someone SLAP ME PLEASE ! 🙂

just my thoughts for today,

Love,

Eve

You are so right in what you stated. I guess it’s the state of mind of others like this man on the motorcycle.

this town I am in now is like a cemetary.. nothing is open after 8pm even on the weekends only a resturant.

We my sister and I go to another area we hate coming back here there isn’t any life in the evening no one walking or talking just home in front of the pc or tvs.

I will try to water my sands in Egypt and see what grows 🙂 maybe a mysterious genie ? 🙂

  2. I do believe that humans are made up with the desire to go out and expand and explore new horizons. That is what we are meant to do…period. So, naturally, we would expect the grass to be greener on the other side. (In our own mind) but when we get there and find out it is only greener because it has been s*#t on, we are then stuck.

I have had the experience to go to other places, but not out of country (yet) 🙂
Finding that, in my view, I can make myself happy in any place. It is up to your state of mind and how you feel about yourself and how you want to feel. I am sure that even a desert could be beautiful if you were with someone you love, or just by yourself if that is the way you wanted it. Ha Ha…..Point is, The grass is only greener if you want it to be, water and fertilize your grass and you won’t long for the neighbors. (not you Eve, I know you are happy)

    Always,
    Sarah

  3. … always long for the countryside and people from the countryside always long for the city. The grass is indeed greener on the other side. When I was at university we used to have a really long summer break (about three to four months). And the best part about it was going back to my parents’ home in the middle of nowhere. It was a place to recuperate and just appreciate the simpler things in life. I didn’t really have any friends around so it was a real break from everyday life. It was wonderful. I miss those days. You are lucky to be living where you are!

  4. HI JCL,

Yes when it’s’ a choice and not a must it is nice just like for me now being in Connecticut. I use to long for Egypt when I was here however, the longing is fading as is my ability to decide where to live.

I guess the romantic view is also fading as the realistic view comes into mind …. YIKESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

It’s always nice to go home when you have a home to go home to. in my case I don’t at least not in USA.

    Love
    Eve
