McDonalds.. more than a lunch

I had to go to Wal-Mart to return a fan I bought,
and on the way back I decided to go to McDonalds
to try their new chicken wrap and a coke.

I went inside to enjoy the air conditioning and sat at a table close to an older couple..

They were sitting at a table for 4 however, the husband was sitting far from his wife so I asked them, " aren't you two together? " the wife replied, " Yes we are I guess it looks like we are mad at eachother? " I said, " sort of " 🙂

Her husband then stated, " we are married now for 60 years"
I said, "wow, what's the key?"
The wife replied, " there isn't any key"
she also said some other funny things however,
to me they were just jokes..

She asked me how long I am married as I explained to her,
"I am no longer married"
and they both wished me much happiness in my future endeavors.

It did my heart good to see people married for that many years to the same person,
I guess when you are married to the right one ..
there aren't any KEYS 🙂

I went to McDonalds for lunch however, I walked out with much more.

Sharing is caring
with love,
Fatimah

  1. Hey Fatimah,I am not surprised that they asked you how long you have been married, after all you are beautiful and smart! This is a very sweet story and reminds me of my granny and grandpa, (who are now passed) they were married for 63 years untill granny passed and grandpa stayed alive till he was 96 still driving and everything! Sounds amazing to me but that was just him, independent and strong little man. Thanks for sharing with us. I would have loved to be there with you people watching. (one of my favorite things to do) Sarah

  2. Hi Fatimah! That’s really a very good thing to be togehter forever. Marriage is the bond that binds not only two bodies but two souls together and not just for this life but for next 7 lives to come or forever. It’s the most bautiful and pious bond on this earth. That’s what I think. :)No one can live without love. But one can still go on by keeping the sweet memories of someone so dear and loved in heart. Missing and being missed by someone is far more important than just being together. :)Any ways, thanks for sharing the nice incident! :)Wish you love, happiness and joy today and always!Gopal.

  3. This is a nice story, i wanted to say, but this s reality you would like to see and to see, to watch and to watch. In my country we have silver wedding – 25 years together, golden wedding – 50 years together. Golden wedding is cerebted in the city counsil. Love, Ramute.

  5. People are amazing, especially the ones with wisdom and experience. As we get older, it’s nice to keep the open mind attitude of still learning.28 years and counting………………………………..

  9. HI Marcus,Yes like I said more than a lunch.. I was sitting near this man who was sorta nuts he was talking to hisself and he had no cell phone so I got up and moved to the other side of the resturant nearer to these older people.. I was watching the face of these two men sitting across from our area and he heard me speak to these people and his face was smiling hearing this lady answer me.. He was married and I know inside his heart he was feeling the same as I was . loving the life these people had.. I told them, “GOD BLESS YOU BOTH MAY YOU HAVE MANY MORE” .. it really made my day.Thank you for enjoying a piece of my lunch.Fatimah
