Farewell James Brown

I saw on the news today
the passing of a great entertainer,
James Brown.

It was when I was in Boarding School sharing a room with 2 other
girls that I heard about him and his music.

This roommate I had was crazy about him I can't remember her name
at this time since she wasn't really a close friend and she was sorta odd
in her thinking so most stayed away from her, friendly but not close.

She was from New York City and always played his music
and it was she who I learned about James Brown from.

Today I thought of this girl again and with a smile seeing her
dancing around our room and feeling his music..
PAPPA GOT A BRAND NEW BAG

Thank you James Brown for making her life happy and for making others
lives full of great music and a great entertainer.

May God Rest your SOUL.

Love

  1. Thank You JB… You will keep on singing in my mind…The Legend of SOUL you were… the  of SOUL you are !ThanX Fati… he is “the Great Man”P.

  2. Although it is true that James Brown was a great showman, I really couldn’t hold too much respect for the man, particularly when it came to his treatment of women. In 1987 Brown was hauled in for assault with intent to kill when he allegedly beat his wife with a pipe and shot into her car. Adrienne Brown stated at the time, “I want him to seek help because he’s a good man. I know he loves me, and I know it’s a sickness. I feel this marriage is worth saving. I love him.”Brown was again arrested in 1995, after allegedly battering his wife.In January of 2004, he was arrested on a domestic violence charge after allegedly pushing his wife to the floor during an argument, resulting in scratches and bruises to her right arm and hip.As with the majority of domestic abuse crimes committed in the United States, the charges were dropped in each case after the wives refused to press charges or to testify in Court against the singer. As a singer, however, he will always be remembered and respected as the fantastic entertainer that he was…he deserves that honored place in history.

  3. HI Lee,Yes ! he did those things and I think too he was using drugs at that time which made him nutty maybe? I know there is’nt any excuse for bad behaviour but drugsdo make you do things and eat things you would not normally do :(As an entertainer he was great and even at his age he still danced like crazy. History was made and the end of an era was laid to rest today.A procession well deserved by him with horse drawn carriage. Thanks for posting Lee, :)Fati

  4. HI P,Yes he was the father of soul, he really brought this music to everyoneand really created a new style and wow could he dance :)Thanks for reading and feeling his soul.Fati

  5. He was very respected in the “music world” here in Argentina, but he hasn’t a lot of fans among common people… but I think that without JB we wouldn’t have Rolling Stones or Iggy Pop. So although he was a great musician I think that his influence was his great contribution. But it’s just my opinion as I’m not myself a soul fan… Bye, Keyboard Fan.Happy New Year Everybody!

  6.
