Children of Men is an Academy Award-nominated 2006 dystopian thriller film directed by Alfonso Cuarón, loosely adapted from P.D. James's 1992 novel The Children of Men. The film depicts a bleak world in which no human child has been born for 18 years, human extinction looms, and violence reigns. The plot centers on Great Britain, which has become a police state. This film is rated 15 in the United Kingdom and R in the United States for strong violence, language, some drug use, and brief nudity.

The cast includes Clive Owen, Julianne Moore, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Sir Michael Caine.

  1. this movie Qbone told me about and he too loved it and I can see why..It showed me how the future can be if we don’t try to make changes now.. A movie that really scares you to know in the future aftersome of us are gone it might be this way :(Please try to watch this movie and see my point.thanks for reading Fati

  3. I loved the movie. However, I do not believe the prediction of the future was its point. Rather, I think the book/scenario was written to provoke some thought, that was sometimes masked by all the action going on.

HI Ramute,yes this movie I see it as a warning like do better or this could happen to Earth.I look at the writers who write these movies they are inspired to write the story so where did they get this knowledge from ? UP ABOVE? Any good story be it in a book or movie has to be given or placed into the mind..LoveFati

HI Aleks,It could be or not a warning it’s all in the eye of the beholder I say.I have seen this world for 59 years and I see how horrible things are nowcompared to back in the 50s and 60s when children can play outdoors and not worry about being killed or stollen. So many changes have taken place in a short time span and I only see more changes happening as the planet earth spirals downwards :(Thanks for readingFati
